Third straight win moves Rockets into Conference lead

—STRATHROY—

Three straight wins, including back-to-back over the Lasalle Vipers, have moved the Rockets into top spot in the Western Conference heading into November.

The Strathroy Rockets are off to one of their best starts in recent memory, picking up 10 wins in their first 14 games, good for 20 points and a lead in the Western Conference. This past week, two big wins over the Lasalle Vipers highlighted some of the teams biggest strengths. On Wednesday, a 1-1 tie took the game to overtime before Ethan Facchina found the back of the net 2:20 into the extra period. Hayden Duncan made 39 saves in goal, his first start this season since being acquired last week. Back at home on Saturday, there was a bit more offence compared to the Wednesday night contest. Strathroy would lead by as much as 4-1 midway through the game, before Lasalle closed the gap heading to the third. Noah Jenken would score his first of the season on the Powerplay early in the period, and it proved to be the game winner. Strathroy got goals from Kyler Morgan, Ethan Facchina, and Evan Van Gorp scored his first two goals of the season.

The Rockets now enjoy a week off between games, before they welcome to London Nationals to town on Saturday night. Puck Drop is 7:30pm at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre.
