The Strathroy Rockets are enjoying their best start to a season in nearly a decade.

A 4-1 win in Komoka Sunday afternoon capped off a weekend sweep of the Middlesex County rivals, and a 5th straight win for the Rockets. Strathroy is now 7-3-0 in their first 10 games, a start to the season that they haven’t had since 2013/2014, when they went 7-2-1 in the first 10 games of the season.

Rookie Matthew Souliere (London, ON) recorded his 2nd hat-trick of the season in the Sunday win, he also had a pair of goals Saturday night, his 13 goals lead the GOJHL as of Monday morning.

Goaltending and defence continue to be strong parts of the Rockets game. They have allowed just 5 goals over the last 5 games, and the 22 GA this season is the lowest GA / game average in the conference. 2nd year Rocket Liam Reid (Elora, ON) has a .939 SV% and a 1.51 GAA in 4 starts this season. Meanwhile, Colin Androlewicz (St. Louis, MO) has been steady, posting a .916 SV% and 2.61

Strathroy will have another busy weekend coming up, with a trip to St. Marys on Friday night, followed by the Chatham Maroons coming to town on Saturday.

As always, games can be streamed on FloHockey.tv ($$), or you can listen to live coverage of the Rockets at home and on the road with the Rockets Audio Network radio broadcast. Both games this weekend will be called by our radio crew.
