The Strathroy Rockets continue with the signing of players for the upcoming GOJHL season with the announcement that two players from last years squad will be back in the lineup for the 2020-2021 season. The news came on Friday via the Rockets social media pages, with the announcement of the return of Ian Babenko (Delaware, ON) and Branden Speziale (London, ON).
For Ian Babenko, it will be the forwards second season in a Rockets uniform after playing with the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and the Mississauga Reps prior to joining. Last season, Babenko played in 38 games for Strathroy, tallying 5 goals and 11 assists including the 2OT winner in the first game of the season.
Branden Speziale on the other hand, will be entering his third season in the GOJHL, and his second full season in Strathroy. Speziale came over from the St. Thomas Stars in 18/19 after 29 games, and played in 13 games with the Rockets to finish the season. Last season he played in 45 games, putting up 2 goals and 13 assists. Prior to junior hockey, he played in the London Jr. Knights organization.
