The Strathroy Rockets are off to a fantastic start in November, climbing to #4 in the league’s Power Rankings. With the team firing on all cylinders, management made several strategic moves to strengthen the roster for the push ahead.
The Rockets made an early splash by trading 2004-born defenseman Nick Savoie, an NCAA commit to Hiram College, to the Welland Jr. Canadians. In return, the Rockets acquired 2006-born forward Maxim Lukojanov, adding a young offensive talent to the lineup.
This was followed by an impressive road victory against the red-hot St. Marys Lincolns. The Rockets pulled off a thrilling 2-1 win, with exceptional goaltending on both sides. The Rockets capitalized on key opportunities to hand the Lincolns only their second loss of the season.
After this big win, the Rockets wasted no time in further bolstering their roster. The team acquired 2005-born American forward Ignac Bene from the Georgetown Raiders (OJHL), adding more firepower to the offense. Additionally, the Rockets shored up their blue line with the addition of 2006-born defenseman Phillip Marcarian from Burlington. Marcarian, who has posted 2 points in 9 GOJHL games this season, brings a steady presence and a playing style similar to former Rocket Matthew Balloch.
With these key roster moves, the Rockets are set to continue their strong performance and push for a top spot in the standings. Stay tuned for more exciting action as the new additions make their debut in the coming games!
