Cory Conacher Acquires Strathroy Rockets, Appoints Andrew Ferlatte as GM (General Manager)
In a bold move within Strathroys die-hard hockey community, Cory Conacher has acquired the Strathroy Rockets and wasted no time in appointing Andrew Ferlatte as the team’s new General Manager. Conacher, known for his hockey prowess and entrepreneurial spirit, sees this as a pivotal moment for both himself and the Rockets organization.
“ I’m super excited to take on this chapter with a junior team and make a positive impact on the community” says Conacher.
During the purchasing process it was well-known to both Cory and Andrew that the need for community involvement is paramount for the success of the franchise, and both have vowed to improve and build on the relationship with the city and its people.
In Cory’s announcement, he appointed Andrew Ferlatte as the teams newest face and General Manager. Ferlatte, a seasoned figure in hockey management, brings a wealth of experience to the role, promising to lead the Rockets to success both in the advancement category, and on the ice in the seasons ahead. It has been no secret that the rumours that ran rampant throughout the media of the sale and the growing concern if the franchise were to stay in Strathroy were well known and acknowledged with Cory and Andrew. During their first official visit to meet with City officials Friday, June 5th they both confirmed they have “No Intentions of moving the Rockets” A statement in which is surely to settle any rumours.
Ferlatte, the 26 year old Ajax,Ont native strongly believes in the city, and its devoted fan base. “Being apart of the community is imperative to not only our off-ice success, but our on-ice success as well. The people of Strathroy deserve to see the Rockets compete for a title each year along with our organizational efforts to be active within the community!”
