Elliston hat trick leads Rockets to win Saturday

STRATHROY –

In their busiest stretch of games all season, The rockets were able to end on a high note with a win Saturday night at home! The 5-2 win improved their record to 12-24-5.

With playoffs around the corner, and the battle for playoff positioning in full swing, Strathroy picked up their 4th straight win on home ice this past Saturday. The win moved them 10 points up on Sarnia for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Michael Elliston lead the way with a hat trick, while Carson Perry picked up assist on all three of his tallies. Rockets goalie in the game Matthew Brazeau only faced 25 shots, but kept the Legionnaires to just 2 goals.

The win ended what was the busiest stretch of games for the Rockets all season. Over an 8 day period, they would play 5 games, including 3 straight away from home.

With just 7 games to go in the regular season, all eyes turn to the standings as teams jockey for position in the final weeks. Strathroy will have a home and home with Leamington this week, starting Thursday night at 7:10pm, and then returning back to the WMMC for a Saturday night contest at 7:30pm. Both games can be streamed live at HockeyTV.com, or you can listen to live audio as Noah Smith and Eldon Dunseith bring you all the action on the Rockets YouTube page.
