The Strathroy Rockets are excited to announce a significant trade that brings star forward Brendan Gerber to our team in exchange for Jimmy Sutherland.
Brendan Gerber, who previously played for the Elmira Sugar Kings, had an impressive season last year, scoring 27 goals and totaling 60 points (including playoffs) in the 2023/2024 season. Gerber also made an early mark this season, playing two games with the London Knights in the OHL. He made his Strathroy Rockets GOJHL debut on Sunday, October 20, against the K-W Siskins, where he contributed two assists in the Rockets’ thrilling 2-1 victory.
On the other hand, Jimmy Sutherland, a 14th round draft pick to the Guelph Storm, posted 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points in his rookie campaign, along with 7 points in 9 playoff games. Jimmy will be joining the Elmira Sugar Kings this week, making the move to stay closer to the Guelph Storm resources.
