Become a Billet Family with the Strathroy Rockets

Are you looking to make a difference in a young athlete’s life — while gaining a lifelong connection and becoming a part of the Rockets family?

The Strathroy Rockets Junior Hockey Club is actively seeking new billet families for the upcoming 2025/2026 season, with the goal of housing up to five players beginning in August through April (or until the end of the hockey season). As our program continues to grow, we hope these billet homes will remain part of our Rockets family for years to come.

What Does It Mean to Be a Billet?

Billeting is more than just providing a room — it’s offering a safe, supportive home-away-from-home for a young player chasing their hockey dreams. Most players are between 16 to 20 years old and may be from across Canada or the United States. In some cases, players will have their own vehicle and are self-sufficient — but like any teenager, they still benefit from structure, a warm meal, and a caring environment.

As a billet, you can treat them like one of your own, including assigning chores or getting to know their routine. It’s truly like having a young adult in your life — who even pays rent.

Billet Benefits

Billet families will receive:

  • $650/month for each player housed

  • Season tickets for all 2025/2026 regular season home games

  • Playoff passes

  • Invitations to team events

  • Recognition at our annual Billet Appreciation Night

You’re Not Alone

We understand this is a commitment — and you’ll be supported every step of the way. Our Billet Coordinator, Colleen, has been with the organization for years and knows firsthand how special these relationships become. She will work closely with you to ensure a smooth experience and is always just a phone call or email away.

Whether you live in Strathroy or the surrounding area, we’d love to hear from you — especially if you’re open to creating a lasting bond with a dedicated young athlete.
